The New Feed In Tariff changes the way a solar photovoltaic system is to be procured for the new Sacred Heart Church and Waterlooville. Despite being successfully awared a 50% grant towards the provision of an 8.3kWp PV system from the Low Carbon Building Programme Phase 2 capital grant it became clear that the Community Sustainable Energy Programme would not support a capital grant for the PV system because of the location of the site in southern England. We reviewed the financial implications of this for our client and they have now decided to forfeit the LCBP2 grant and take the FIT payments of £0.36/kWh generated plus £0.03/kWh exported. This will provide the parish with an average annual income of £3,290.
