We have investigated and designed heating systems for many old church buildings in Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and beyond and there is only one that never fails to surprise us.
Every one of them require a different and very bespoke solution because of structural differences, internal layout differences, budgetary differences, access, flue, or space restrictions, not to mention access to an adequate fuel source.
All Saints Church in Hampreston did not disappoint, it did not buck the trend and, in fact, suffered from pretty well all the above restrictions.
Working closely with the architect from Salisbury Diocese we have come up with a scheme that provides replacement boiler plant and additional heat emitters in the church to ensure a comfortable temperature can be achieved whilst retaining as much of the original installation as possible in an effort to contain costs. Our proposals have now been submitted to DAC for approval.
