A purpose designed 6-classroom, 815m2, SEN school extension to Linwood School, Bournemouth, reached the end of the defects liability period this month.

This procurement strategy was taken to achieve useable classroom spaces by September 2017 when orders were only given to the Contractor in February 2017 to commence fabrication and work were only allowed on the site during school holidays. Worldwise provided a performance specification for the M&E systems and undertook critical utilities load assessments and developed a design strategy for the building around available spare gas and water capacity to avoid delays that can be caused by utility supply upgrades. The electrical supply was new coming off the adjacent road and was the first thing to be installed.
