Work gets under on Oratory House in Bournemouth for a complete refurbishment of the 780m2Grade 2 Listed building that will house 10 priests in 10 bedrooms with en-suites, offices, a lounge, dining room, kitchen, library and meeting room.
The Listed Building status of the building means that removals and new systems have to be sympathetic to the context and materials employed and necessary consents obtained from Conservation Office, English Heritage and Diocesan authorities before work could commence.
Worldwise had long since identified that most of the services in the building were unsafe which hadn’t been a significant problem because the building had been largely unoccupied for some time but when it became an Oratory rather than the presbytery to the Sacred Heart Church Worldwise were engaged to undertake a full design service to modernise the Oratory and separate all the services from those serving the church and the lower ground floor level for which there are longer term plans.
