Having had their boiler condemned due to asbestos presence in its flue and the fact that the basement boiler room routinely flooded in wet weather, the Parish Council asked Worldwise for advice on the options available to them.
They did not have sufficient funds to replace their entire heating system so it was agreed that only the boiler would be replaced but that hydraulic separation between it and the remaining distribution system would be needed to protect the boiler from becoming fouled and potential premature failure.
Once DAC approval for the proposal was obtained a detailed specification was drawn up and tenders sought for the replacement boiler to go in the Vestry. The gas meter had to be relocated from the redundant basement plant room.
Liaison with Columba Cook Architect meant that the impact to the historic building and grounds was minimal.
