Gas & Water Mains Replacement
In response to an aged and decayed gas and mains water pipework network infrastructure on their commercial / light industrial estate Birchmere engaged Worldwise to advise them on economic ways to replace the two systems across the whole site comprising 102 units.
Initially we carried out a site survey of every unit to identify the locations and sizes of their gas and water supplies so that new plans could be drawn up for the replacement of the aging pipework serving the buildings.
Knowing where pipes entered each unit before commencing works on site ensured good cost certainty and also meant that trenching excavations for the pipework, with the associated traffic disruption, could be minimised. Co-ordinating gas and water services made for greater savings on associated excavations. We reviewed and commented on utility company quotations, technical submittals for pipework types and service entry details so that the developer could proceed with confidence.
