Extension & Alterations
This project comprised a 592m2 extension over two floors plus the refurbishment of 640m2 of existing office space for a busy telephone systems supplier.
As no records existed of the existing installations Worldwise started by undertaking out of hours surveys of the installed systems and then load assessments were completed to identify that a new electrical supply would be required and the main switchgear would need to be re-positioned. Relocation of much of the existing external cooling plant was required to make space for the building extension. Understanding what external equipment was connected to what internal equipment was important to plan the sequence of work needed to minimise disruption to the client’s ongoing use of the building during the construction phase of the project.
New and refurbished mechanical ventilation, VRV heating and cooling, lighting, fire and intruder alarms, surge protection, lightning protection and a 15kVA UPS were all designed as well as the relocation of the gas supply and domestic hot water generation plant.
