Following on from our successful involvement at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialist referral unit, IVC Evidensia engaged Worldwise to undertake the detailed design of all M&E services and utility supplies for their new build 3,360m2 development on the Longbridge site in Birmingham. The client wanted to lease a purpose built two-storey building from St Modwens with the scheme being delivered as separate Shell and Fit-out contracts.
The building would include :

- CT Scanner
- 2 X-Ray rooms
- Ultrasound
- Endoscopy
- 4 Operating Theatres with anaesthesia, autoclave room and sterile stores
- Oncology
- Laundry
- Cat and Dog Wards
- Neuro, Isolation and Physiotherapy areas
- Pharmacy
- 8 Consulting Rooms
- Seminar rooms
- Administration and management areas
Load assessments were undertaken to establish the required 1000kVA power, natural gas, water and medical gases supplies that would need to be installed as part of the Shell contract. Worldwise assisted with negotiations for services provision, Building Regulations Part L energy compliance and planning for the Shell development phase of the works.
Design of the Fit-out services systems was undertaken to RIBA Stage 3+ when the project was tendered on a design and build basis with Worldwise retained on the client side for review of Contractor’s Proposals, Technical Submittals and monitoring of installations and commissioning.
