Following the re-roofing of a 2,530m2 warehouse in Poole Carlise moved their American production facility to the factory.
Worldwise were engaged to undertake the detailed design and construction management (as RIBA stage 3-7) of the services provision to the refurbished building.
The old warehouse was re-clad and the majority of the space was serviced for production. Two storey office type accommodation was installed inside part of the warehouse with windows provided to outside for daylighting. Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery and a VRV comfort cooling systems was provided within the office spaces.
Existing services were stripped out and disconnected from the rest of the building. Worldwise carried out a load assessment for gas, water and electrical demands in the fit out area. An upgrade of the gas and electrical supplies resulted for the whole site, with new services extended to Factory B. A new 630A switchpanel board, 400A busbar trunking distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, high level busbar trunking for small and motive power was designed and specified by Worldwise with existing , fire alarm, CCTV and comms cabling systems extended. New , gas-fired unit heaters, air source heat pumps for offices and dehumidification to two product preparation areas were detailed along with a compressed air backbone distribution was a designed as a co-ordinated package for fast installation on site.
