Initially engaged to prepare a report on the replacement of mechanical services system to be undertaken in conjunction with the planned upgrade of pool hall and changing rooms this led on to a detailed investigation and report on options available for life cycle efficient pool hall environmental control.
Finally we were asked to develop the chosen option for a 5.2m3/s air handling unit using counterflow heat exchanger to deliver winter heat recovery efficiencies in excess of 90%. The distribution system employs fabric ductwork for even air distribution, fast installation, safe working at heights and easy cleaning.
Separate ventilation systems for showers, changing rooms and gymnasium along with underfloor heating, domestic water and gym comfort cooling were all designed and specified.
Systems were designed in packaged and released to the client as they were completed to allow fast procurement and execution on site in an effort to have the site closed for the minimum period.
