New Sports Building, Infill Art Studio, and Remodelled Science Classrooms and Prep Area

A new sports hall suitable for 4 Badminton Courts with changing village and fitness suite for school and community use, modifications to and additional classrooms, new infill Art Studio and remodelled Science Labs comprised the works for this contract. Work was undertaken whilst the school remained fully operational.

Services included upgrade of gas utility infrastructure to site, natural ventilation strategy for sports hall and ICT suites, mechanical ventilation with thermal wheel heat recovery for changing village. The design philosophy adopted for the Languages Block, constructed two years previously, was adopted to provide continuation of the roof “turret” appearance.

An extensive upgrade to fire, intruder, IT wiring, and telephone system across whole site also formed part of the contract to bring all systems up to current standards for DDA requirements and other requirements. A CCTV system was installed to help combat problems on the site out of school hours.
