Worldwise Limited was engaged to produce a detailed design of all necessary mechanical and electrical services associated with the 168m2 extension of the school to provide a new Reception class, new Nursery class, associated toilets and the upgrading of the existing staff room. Full post-contract duties involving monitoring the quality, cost and performance of M&E related matters was also part of the brief.

Being a primary school care was taken to install heating systems with low surface temperatures and limited hot water temperatures at sinks and basins. Provision of sufficient power sockets to cater for the increasing needs of IT roll-out in schools was made as was the Category 5e data wiring for interactive white boards and other points in the classrooms. An upgraded fire alarm and building fabric lightning protection were included as part of the electrical works.

This was the first phase in a strategic development of the site. Worldwise was engaged on a subsequent phase of the strategic plan for the provision of a new music classroom, a quiet room, an SEN room, accessible WC/shower and associated circulation spaces – all due for completion in September 2007.
